Unite and Fight against Racism

One of our priority campaigns this year is to campaign to stop racism and to break through the myths that seek to divide society.

Instead of allowing ignorance and stereotyping of people from different cultures and faiths to continue, we aim to run a pro-active campaign that demonstrates the ignorance of such stereotypes and shows that we all have common interests and values.

How can you get involved?

·         Help organise a benefit gig or another event

·         Create a piece of art work/organise an exhibition

·         Perform at a benefit gig

·         Help design posters

·         Help run a stall

·         Hand out our flyers to your course-mates

·         Come up with an idea of your own

·         Volunteer in a community project

·         Use your talents to design, run or publicise a campaign or event as a course project

Stop the Fascist BNP

In recent years, the racist scapegoating of asylum seekers and refugees, as well as the rising Islamophobia resulting from the ‘War on Terror’ has fuelled race hate.

Fascist groups such as the BNP have used these issues to whip up racism, and where they have gained a foothold, incidents of racist and homophobic abuse and physical attacks increase.

Campaigning works!

Where there are active campaigns that tackle racist myths and stereotypes, support for fascist parties such as the BNP has been shown to collapse, and racist incidents decline.

Our campaign looks to promote unity, which can help us to challenge the real problems in society.
