What is RELAYS?

RELAYS (Regional Educational Legacy in Arts & Youth Sport) is an innovative and ambitious programme designed to inspire young people and their communities to participate in, create and promote cultural and sporting activities in the South West England. Its aim is to create a positive and lasting legacy beyond 2012.

What you can do as a volunteer through RELAYS at UPSU

We run and support a variety of exciting events and activities throughout the region and incorporate elements of sport, arts and culture. This is where you come in. Our work is supported by a team of student volunteers who have a major role in planning, co-ordinating and running a variety of events around the region.

Whether it’s helping out on the day at a festival, or gaining experience in organising and planning an event, RELAYS has many opportunities for you to be involved with:

• Event planning & organisation		• Marshalling at festivals & events
• Marketing & PR		• Mentoring
• Sports Coaching		• Facilitating workshops
• Filming & documenting of festivals & events		• Sponsorship & Fundraising

• Volunteer exchange – Attend other events at Bristol & Bournemouth Universities
• Chance to be nominated for recognised awards within & outside of UPSU

• Free RELAYS t-shirt & other merchandise!
• RELAYS volunteers can gain their Plymouth Award & LtV Award by logging their volunteering hours, like all volunteers at UPSU
