► Training & Credits

UPSU Training helps you gain informal learning and practical skills during your time here at University. There is a selection of training courses available to equip you to undertake your chosen volunteering activity confidently and safely.

Most of our training courses are free to Volunteers, Course Reps, Members of Parliament, etc; but we do ask for a small contribution (about £10) towards the cost of expensive training such as First Aid, which is fantastic value as the certificate you get is valid for 3 years!

These are some of the courses that are available to you:

Child Protection Training  Working with Vulnerable Adults Training
Environmental Project Training  First Aid Training
Safe Tool Handling (for you environmentalists)  CyberMentoring
Basic Food Hygiene  British Sign Language
 Course Rep Training
 Parliament Training

Plymouth Award

The Plymouth Award is designed to recognise and celebrate student achievements outside the curriculum.

Many Plymouth University students already make significant contributions to the life of the University and the communities in which they live and work. The Plymouth Award is one way of recognising these contributions and the learning and personal growth that students gain from these activities
