DEPUTY PRESIDENT - ALESHIA

Hello!

I’m Aleshia, and in my role as Deputy President, I work very closely with the University Partner College (UPC) faculty  to represent the 10,000 students who study in the university’s 18 partner colleges located all across the region. I support the 7 elected UPC student reps from the largest partner colleges, to help them increase student involvement, organise campaigns and tackle the issues that occur at their college.

 As Deputy President I aim to provide representation of Mature students and International students.

I am also responsible for organising student parliament. Parliament consist of 38 elected representatives who vote on the issues that affect all students. Parliament is always on Plymouth campus once a month (see website for dates), but if you are form a partner college and would like to come, please let me know so I can organise some transport for you (because it is for democratic purposes we can normally reimburse your travel cost! Awesome!). In addition I’m lead officer for elections, and other democratic processes that may occur throughout the year...check out the website for more info.
