Benefits: Why would I want to be a Course Rep?

Ø	Training sections will be set by upsu
Ø	Certificate. A course rep will get a certificate when the academic year coming to the end
Ø	Kinds of learning opportunities/experiences. The experience can be used as a learning opportunity to gain important skills, such as being assertive, communicating, listening, public speaking, time management, stress management, lobbying, negotiation, being a team member, referral skills, confidentiality, report writing.
Ø	These skills are transferable and you’ll find that they will prove useful whatever profession you end up working in.
Ø	Finally, being a Course Representative looks excellent on your CV as it shows you are willing to take on and deal with responsibility.

Nowadays, only a degree is not good enough help a graduate student to hunt a good job, as a report from the internet, there were almost 500.000 students graduated from UK universities, all competing for the same post-graduate employment opportunities, and employers are only looking for skilled individuals who have got some special skills. It’s getting more difficult to get a good one, even though just an interview!

However, being a Course Rep can improve your personal skills, your job prospect, these are what an employer looking for.
