Course Reps are students on a course or a department, who are elected by their peers to represent all students on their course.
An elected rep is in post for one year but has the opportunity to be re-elected in the following years. They are there to provide consistent, well-informed opinion about the quality of teaching and learning on their course, and also on the overall student experience gained whilst at the University.
Course reps are very important, because they give a voice to students and are able to take forward complaints, suggestions and ideas to faculty meetings and academic staff. They can affect real change on a course to make it better for the students. They can also provide reasoning behind decisions made by faculties and enable faculties to understand what the students want and need, to make their course more enjoyable and accessible.
