To nominate someone for an award, you simply have to fill in our online nomination form and provide a brief (no more than 300 words) supporting statement to back up your nomination.

We are looking for quality over quantity of nominations, so make sure you take time to think carefully about why this person deserves the award and explain this in the nomination form.

Any student can nominate as many lecturers as they wish.

How do I nominate?

Make sure you take time to think carefully about why this person deserves the award and explain this in the nomination form. Any student can nominate as many lecturers as they wish.

Top Tips for a Strong Nomination

When writing your supporting statement remember that you don’t have to relate directly to every aspect of the broad criteria we have provided. Try and highlight explicit examples of the nominee’s work and how they have had a positive influence on your time as a student.

Dates

Nominations are open to all University of Plymouth Students to nominate their lecturers, course reps and will be open 
from the 

4th February 
to the
25February. 

The Awards Ceremony will be held on the 21st March.

What happens when nominations close?

After the closing date, a panel made of students and UPSU staff will meet and agree a short-list for each award category. This will be made up of two ‘Highly Commended’ and one ‘Winner’ from each Faculty. This shortlist will be advertised and those who made it on will be invited to the Awards Ceremony, where the overall ‘Highly Commended’ and ‘Winners’ will be announced.


The winners of the School Rep award will be decided by the SSTAR Project Team.
