UPSU President
£17,203 per annum plus benefits.
The President is the overall leader of the Union and the sabbatical team. He/She sits on the University Board of Governors and is the principal point of contact for the University, the National Union of Students and particularly for the local community. The President also has specific responsibility to be the lead student officer in liaising with the University Faculties of Arts, PDIC and PCMD, including representing students at faculty level meetings. He/She chairs the UPSU Board of Trustees, which sets the strategic priorities and governs the work of the Union; the sabbatical team’s weekly meetings; and the Finance and Staffing Committee. The President leads on democracy and ensuring internal accountability within the Union. The President is also responsible for setting the direction of the Chief Executive’s work, acting as their line manager and is responsible for ensuring the finances of the Union are transparent and accessible to students. Their prime accountability is to Student Parliament. |
