Greg White joins the University of Plymouth Students’ Union (UPSU) as Chief Executive

The University has recruited a new Chief Executive who will work with the President and Chair of the Board to lead the implementation of the strategic plan and be responsible for staff leadership and management. Greg will also lead the organisation as they register for charity status in 2011.

Seena Shah, President of UPSU said “On behalf of UPSU I am delighted to announce that Greg White has joined us as our Chief Executive. Greg joined us on the 10th January and has a wealth of experience including working for Scottish & Newcastle Brewery PLC and NUS Services Ltd”

Greg’s primary role will be to support the Officers and develop a new strategic direction for the Students’ Union as we move into a new era of funding within the HE sector.

“This is an important time for students’ unions as we adapt to the new challenges that face us, so Greg’s recruitment is vital in ensuring we have a strong management team that can deliver the vision of the Officers and our membership” said Seena.

Speaking of his appointment Greg said “I am delighted to join an award winning Students’ Union, particularly at a time when the student experience is becoming increasingly important to the evolution of the University of Plymouth. With UPSU already delivering at such a high standard it will be my responsibility to take the organisation to the next level as we strive for continuous improvement.”
