► Lee Langford

I am studying a teaching degree specialising in Physical Education. I have a real passion for sport and I regularly play football, tennis, futsal, badminton and enjoy running and swimming. I am also a football referee and coach and enjoy the physical education aspect of my degree.
Aim;
I WILL: Improve accessibility for sports for all keeping the pledge of keeping Wednesday afternoons free.
-Increase the awareness of Varsity and support all our sport teams in winning at all cost.
-Reduce fees involved within sport and recreation at the university.
-Improve the consistency of coaching at the university.
-Support the sports clubs to improve their university results at BUCs.
-Also continue to develop the sports strategy

What I am going to achieve and why I am the person to do it!
I believe that there are various reasons as to why I would be the best person to be the Vice-President Sport because Champions aren't made in the gyms, Champions are made from something they have deep inside them.
Most importantly is the fact that I have previously been a games captain at school, class rep for sport development and fitness at college as well as class rep at university. Not only am I familiar with what is involved in being a rep, I also have a very good understanding of how things work at Plymouth. I have been involved in various committees and attended meetings involving both fellow students and academic staff.

Joining a sports team has undoubtedly been the best decision I could have made since coming to Plymouth as it has allowed me to meet so many amazing people as well as opening lots of doors for new opportunities. If I’m elected as VP Sports I hope to make Sports as good for all students as it has been for me!

I have also been involved with writing a motion and am also aware of the dedication and time required for this post. I have previously juggled studying, working part-time, voluntary work and organising events along with finding time for my other interests, which has helped develop my ability to divide my time wisely.

I have a passion for sport, and sport is something that I feel needs to and will be a much bigger priority at the University of Plymouth. The University are busy trying to compete with the other Colleges and Universities academically; I will make sport a priority in every aspect!
I have the passion for our hobbies and I will make it so that the standard is higher for you in every aspect, sport is very important and I will make sure that campus knows that!!!
