Varsity is the sports challenge event of the year between University College Plymouth St Mark & St John and Plymouth University.

UCP Marjon are the current champions of Varsity beating Plymouth University 26 points to 25.

Varsity originally started as a challenge between the two universities’ men’s rugby teams. Its primary aim was to raise money for charity but additionally, helped to fuel a healthy sporting rivalry between the universities.

The programme has since diversified to encompass as many sports as possible to see who is the true sporting champion in Plymouth.
