Comedy For Freshers 2023: Louis Burgess
A special evening of comedy specially curated for incoming Plymouth University Freshers 2023 cohorts! On Tuesday 19th September, local Plymouth promoters A Press of Suspects {presents} are returning to the Student Union bringing their unique brand of comedy events. And what a line up they have in store:
Headliner - Louis Burgess: Online viral sensation Louis Burgess has been dubbed as one of freshest & most exciting musical comedy acts in the UK. Louis has achieved over 50 million views worldwide for his online comedy videos, best known for his online hits “I’m Awake” and “Long Build Ups and Disappointing Drops”. Featured on Unilad, Viral Thread, Wall Of Comedy, The Poke & Metro to name a few. His unique and innovative live act is a rip-roaring concoction of singing, rapping, sampling, beatboxing, strumming, looping and more. High octane and energized yet heartfelt and honest, Louis is a musical comedy act for the new generation.

MC - David Arnold
David Arnold is a must watch star of the future who is taking the UK comedy circuit by storm. In over ten years on the circuit, he has shared the stage with some of the biggest names, performed at world-renowned festivals and has had critical acclaim in competitions such as So You Think You’re Funny and the British Comedian of the Year. In recent years he‘s written for BBC Radio Wales, performed at the London Palladium and internationally for P&O Cruises.

Jon Wagstaffe
A simple country lad from Tewkesbury Jon Wagstaffe burst onto the scene in May 2011 and has propelled himself quickly into being a well-known act on the comedy circuit. His mix of high energy and clever writing make audiences warm to him instantly. Now experienced in playing to stag & hen parties to corporate nights, pubs to festivals, comedy clubs and competitions Jon is comfortable in any room. His take on modern life will have any audience in fits of laughter. He is also devilishly good-looking and has beautiful hair.
Sam Serrano
Sam Serrano is a gender fluid, dyspraxic comedian has been taking the circuit by storm. A regular in clubs across the UK Sam’s unique trademark style that is dark and self-deprecating in equal measure has seen him become a favourite with bookers. It has also seen Sam provide tour support for Brennan Reece and perform an incredible five solo hour shows at Hot Water Comedy Club, Nottingham Comedy Festival & Leicester Comedy Festival.
