We are collaborating with 5 other UPSU sports and societies for a litter pick

• Marine Biology Society
• Sailing 
• Wind Riders 
• Scuba 
• Canoe 

This will be a great opportunity to meet and get to know people from other societies. When you arrive you will be split into groups with a mix of students from each student group. 

We will be collecting as much litter as possible (there will be a prize for the group who collects the most litter!). We will also be helping the Marine Biology Society with a shore survey after the litter pick where we will learn how to rockpool and identify some species!

This is a great activity to do something for the local community as well as to appreciate our marine environment and beaches with other like-minded people!

What to bring 

• Suitable shoes for uneven terrain (closed toe with lots of grip) - potentially shoes you don't mind getting wet 
• A spare pair of dry shoes 
• Snacks and water 
• Waterproof coat 
• Plenty of warm layers 
• Money for the ferry (£3 each way, they accept cash or card)

Timings 

11:00 - Briefing 

11:20 - Split into groups with people from each society 

11:30 - Shore survey and beach clean

12:30 - Come back together as a group and have lunch

13:00 - Finish and go home (evening social to be announced soon)
