Discover the hidden marvels of the Tamar Bridge on this exclusive guided tour, offering a rare behind-the-scenes experience. The journey begins at the Visitor and Learning Centre, where you’ll explore the fascinating history and innovative engineering of the Tamar Bridge through interactive displays and exhibits.
From there, the tour continues with a walk beneath the bridge, offering a unique perspective as you look up and across its impressive underside. You’ll then enter the bridge’s anchorage chambers, a critical yet typically inaccessible area that ensures the structure’s stability. This enclosed space offers a rare insight into the inner workings of this engineering masterpiece. And finally a guided walk on the bridge itself while you learn how the Royal Albert bridge was constructed, learn about the features of the Tamar Bridge, and much more about the local history of the area, with stunning views of the river Tamar along the way.
Please note that the anchorage chambers involve steep steps and enclosed spaces, which may not meet all accessibility requirements. For further information or to discuss your needs, please contact us in advance.
Spaces are limited to 30, and advance booking is essential. Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to explore this iconic landmark from a perspective few ever get to see!
