This term I started my school rep role creating a video, introducing myself and the different feedback systems in the dental school. This was played to all year groups, participating on undergraduate courses at the dental school.

I have proactively reached out to Dentsoc, and this has led Greta Strojny (Head of Dentsoc) and I to work on a project together. The aim of this project is to allow Dental course reps to gather feedback and suggestions from their peers, advocating for their year group's interests at Dentsoc meetings. We hope that this can be implemented in Semester 2.

One of my aims, as School Rep, has been to 'explore ways in which dental students can learn and collaborate on sustainability in Dentistry'. I have worked with Robert Hinchley, who is the Peninsula Dental Social Enterprise (PDSE) Sustainability Manager, to establish the Peninsula Dental Environmental Sustainability Group, with our first group meeting scheduled for Semester 2. The group is a collaboration between Peninsula Dental School and PDSE and is open to all students and staff. The group will discuss and develop opportunities for reducing environmental impact within the school. It is a space for students and staff alike to share ideas, develop knowledge and discuss PDSE's environmental action plan.

All 4th year BDS students undertake a year in Truro. Reflecting on feedback, I have noticed there is a lack of Plymouth University student community. As a result, I hope to establish the UPSU 'Truro Campus Society’. We have enough signatures and are currently completing the forms to set up this society. The aim of the society will be to connect all University of Plymouth students studying in, or on placement in Truro, creating a sense of student community and belonging on the University of Plymouth's Truro Campus. I hope it will be a positive social space/experience for all current and future students.

In addition, I sent an email to all Dental Course reps, explaining how my role as school rep can support them and encouraging them to contact me with any feedback. I emphasised the importance of closing the feedback loop. I worked with the Year 4 BDS course reps, collecting feedback from my year group and presenting it at the SSLC. I worked with Alex Creswell-Boyes to clarify the SSLC agenda and I attended the SSLC meeting. I have had regular meetings with staff in dental school discussing feedback.
