On the 24th of January, the Environmental Society hosted a Veganuary potluck meal in the SU Lounge where members bought a vegan dish to share. The aim was to encourage more students to try new plant-based dishes to celebrate Veganuary and spread awareness of the positive enviromental impact of incorporating more vegan dishes into their meal plans.

With the carbon footprint of a vegan diet being up to 60% smaller than that of a meat-based diet, we thought it was important to celebrate Veganuary with a potluck!

"There was a brilliant turnout with a great selection of dishes from hearty stews and homemade sourdough bread to delicious sweet treats.

The event fostered a real sense of community between our members, swapping recipes and tips on incorporating a more plant-based diet into our everyday lives.

The event was such a success and we are keen to hold more potlucks like it, even outside of Veganuary!"
