The Shipping Society hosted the previous international chairman of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, Theo Coliandris, as a guest lecturer at the start of November, followed by a networking event.
Theo talked about his life as a shipbroker and gave the members a basic introduction to the industry.
The members were enthusiastic about the event, and more than 50 people attended the lecture as well as the networking event afterwords. The event was open to everyone with an interest in the shipping industry, and was the perfect mix between social and educational. Following the lecture, all the members got a chance to talk to Theo Coliandris who gave great advice and knowledge to people with questions about the maritime industry.
