On the 19th and 20th of October, Ultimate Frisbee held a tournament at Marjon University which raised money for charity with 36 teams from all across the UK, playing in both beginners and experienced division!
We managed to raise hundreds of pounds for charity over the event with entry fees and event frisbees being sold during the event!
This tournament is organised by the Ultimate Frisbee Chair and Treasurer each year to give the club a chance to raise money for charity and also give beginners some game experience before regionals and nationals begin later in the academic year. "The sporting competition sees teams from beginners who only just started playing, all the way up to GB players competing in one place," members explain.
Beginners tournament is important for beginners as they get to have tonnes of fun, while improving massively at the game of frisbee. Also, they get to see high level frisbee, which gives them something to strive for. - Aaron Cooper (Captain)
Our beginners ultimate frisbee tournament is more than just games, it's the first step into competitive play. Where new players truly discover their potential bond with teammates and embrace their skills against others for the first time. - Abigail Stacey (Treasurer)
