Brexit: how does the UK leaving the EU affect university students and staff?

homepage

As you will no doubt be aware Britain is leaving the European Union and has now entered the transition period.

It is important to remember that during the transition there is no immediate change, and for the UK university sector in particular, programmes such as Horizon 2020 and Erasmus+ continue as normal during this time. All current staff/students or those looking to join us up until 31 December 2020 are also eligible to apply for ‘pre-settled’ or ‘settled status’.

Brexit and tuition fees

The UK Government has confirmed that EU students commencing their studies in 2020/21 will continue to have ‘Home’ fee status and pay fees at the home rate for the duration of their course. This also applies to current students.

The fee status of EU nationals for 2021 entry onwards has yet to be determined by the UK Government. When this status has been confirmed, we will update fee information on our course web pages.

If you would like to discuss this with an advisor at the University please contact The Student Funding Unit by email at studentservices@plymouth.ac.uk or call us on +44 1752 587676

"As an internationally focused university, we remain fully committed to supporting our community. Our mission remains to transform lives through education and research, and to offer our students the best experience possible". Professor Judith Petts, CBE, Vice-Chancellor
