Are you an International Student wanting to gain more information about studying and living in Plymouth? Do you have information and knowledge that you would like to share with other international students? Join our International Student Meet Up!

  • When: Thursdays, 4 - 5pm
  • Where: SU Lounge - the café and bar will be open for you to purchase your own snacks and drinks
  • Who: Everyone is welcome!

Join us to create a community and share knowledge. Each week we will have a short information session followed by time to chat and relax.

22nd September: Introduction and making the most of your money
 

Join us in Portland's Pizzeria for our first meet up. Tonari, your VP Education and Nicola from Student Services will introduce the aim of the International Student Meet Up. 

In our first session we will discuss how to make the most of your money, Tonari, Nicola and Esther, your International Student Part-Time Officer, will discuss good places to shop to save money and how to access student discounts. 
 



29th September: Where to go for support?
 

We are joined by Toshiko Terazono - Lecturer in Architecture at the University of Plymouth. As well as teaching here at the university, Toshiko also has experience of studying in the UK as an international student. She will share her experiences and explain how your tutors can help you. We will discuss the role of the Personal Tutor and much more. 

A member of the Student Hub team will talk to you about services and support on offer at the University of Plymouth and how to access these.
 


 

6th October: Get to know your library
 

Meeting in Portland's Pizzeria we will walk across to the library together for a tour to include: 

  • How to print and photocopy resources
  • How to top up your student card
  • How to locate and borrow a book
  • How to book study spaces
     


13th October: Introduction to your Students' Union
 

Today you will have the opportunity to meet your Sabbatical Officers and find out more about sports and activities /societies and volunteering, and much more.
