Can you spare half an hour on a Tuesday to volunteer? (This doesn’t need to be every week).

Would you like to keep your food shopping costs down and receive a plethora of fruit and vegetables for £3?

Do you want to meet other students and develop new friendships?

If your answer to all the above is 'Yes', then join the SU Fruit and Vegetable Co-operative!

What is the SU Fruit and Vegetable Co-operative?

The Fruit and Veg Co-op is a student-led sustainability initiative that aims to support students with the Cost of Living, and reduce food waste. By receiving surplus fruit, vegetables, and other groceries from the local charity  FareShare SouthWest , students work together in groups of 20 to sort and organise their produce, meet other people, and then go home with the produce from one of the Fruit and Vegetable boxes that they have made!

“It's great to be part of a scheme that helps with avoiding food waste, …. low cost veg is much appreciated.”

“'I’m very grateful as it has helped me with cost of food”

"I like the veg boxes as you get a good variety and means I'm eating a bit more healthy as a student as it gives access to fruits and veg I may not normally pick up”

“This scheme has made a massive difference to my food shop and spending so thank you for organizing this idea as its a big help!”
