On the 8th of December 2024, the K-Pop Society held their first K-Pop dance show in the Roland Levinsky Hall to provide members the opportunity to showcase their hard work and passion for dance.
Members of K-Pop shared with us the success of their showcase, including raising money for their chosen charity...
"K-pop is a global phenomenon which includes many styles of music which include choreographies that many fans, such as our lovely society members, love to follow.
We held a fundraiser, where 50% of the sales went towards our chosen charity: Plymouth Music Zone (PMZ).
We are very grateful to have been able to raise £190.24 for PMZ from our first showcase!
PMZ are a charity “that believes passionately in the power of music to reach out and bring people together” - statement that strongly aligns with the beliefs we share in our society, as we think music brings everyone together and creates such a sense of community and those overarching foundations are true for both the charity and our society."
I’m so insanely happy that we could have our first showcase and for it to be so successful. Myself and our incredible committee worked so hard to really pull this together and ourselves and dancers were all so happy with the outcome. We cannot wait for the next one on the 6th of April! - Aidan, Vice chair & Dance Captain.

I remember one of the first things we dreamt of when becoming committee in 2023 was to host a showcase and the fact that we actually finally managed to do it in our final year fills me with so much pride and joy!! And for it to be as amazing as it was, I couldn't ask for anything better. I can't wait to do it again and I wish this society so much success in the future!! - Jennie, Chair.
