Last year KC represented you as the VP Activities & Development and this year you have elected him to the role of SU President for the 2020 - 2021 academic year.

As President, KC is responsible for: leading the Sabbatical Officer team, Union Affairs, Democracy, Strategy, National Campaigns, Student as Partners, International Students, Mature Students, Sustainability and Partner Colleges.

Hello everyone, my name is Chukwudi Kosisochukwu Ezenyi, but you can call me KC if you’re in a rush! I hail from the eastern region of Nigeria (Anambra to be precise) but, I lived and grew up in the popular city of Lagos, Nigeria. Growing up in Nigeria is one experience I would not trade for anything as it laid me a good foundation for life!

I am a proud Christian and I love God!

I arrived the UK for studies on the 6th of Feb 2013 (after taking a year off uni back home) and I was excited about this new journey I was about to embark on! Although I was faced with various challenges through this, but I had a determination to complete this journey I had started and most of all, I had all my Faith in God to see me through. So far, I can proudly say I have completed three degrees (one Bs.C, one B.A, and one Ms.C) whilst loving life in Plymouth!

Being part of a society really helped integrate well into the University thereby improving my student experience, broadening my horizon, and presenting me with amazing opportunities one of which is, being a sabbatical officer.

One thing I love about being a sabbatical officer is being able to represent students, and to see that I contribute towards the improvement of students' experiences as students deserve the best uni experience they can ever have. It is for reasons like this and many more that I am more than grateful and excited to be a sabbatical officer for another year! As president of the student union, I lead and support the sabbatical officer team, represent the university of Plymouth students nationally and, champion priority campaigns to improve the student experience.

What made you choose to study at the University of Plymouth?

I knew a few people here already that's why I chose to come here

What did you study?

Computer systems and networks, international trade and operations management, supply chain and operations management

What made you want to become a Sabbatical Officer?

My experience as a committee member of the Nigerian Students’ society

If you could go back to your first day of Uni, what one piece of advice would you give yourself?

Embrace the process ??

What’s your favourite memory of your whole time at the University of Plymouth?

A lot of them, but I’d say becoming the President of UPSU

What would you like to achieve on behalf of students this year to make their lives better?

Everything they voted me in for....

What's a song that sums up you or your time at Uni and why?

I no fit shout - Frank Edwards

Chinedum - Mercy Chinwo

I'm sorry, even picking just two was a challenge haha. I love these songs and I feel they describe me and my time at uni best because they just narrate how my life has been going since joining uni. Chinedum is an Igbo word (Nigerian tribe) that means “God leads/guides me” and that’s what it has really been for me.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?

An aeronautical engineer/footballer

What’s your guiltiest pleasure?

Quality whiskey

What’s your most annoying habit?

Poor time management

If you could have any superpower which would you choose?

Teleportation

Describe yourself in 5 words

Positive/optimistic, self-aware, witty, charismatic, teachable

Summer or Winter - Summer

Eat out or takeaway - takeaway
