On Sunday 19th January, your VP Wellbeing & Diversity, Krupa Niak, hosted a Here If You Need free gym session at the SU Gym on campus!

This free event welcomed all University of Plymouth students who identify as female to join Krupa and SU Gym staff in the afternoon to practice how to use gym equipment correctly and safely, learn various exercises, and socialise with new like-minded people at the University who may want to join the SU Gym and find a gym buddy!

This session was well attended and recieved lovely feedback from students who came along:

  • "It helped us to know how to use machines."
  • "More women-only sessions would be great."
  • "Thank you for arranging this!"
  • "It’s so comfortable and fun to try this, especially when all women are around."

We’d absolutely love to hear from more women about what they’d like to see next. Whether it’s practical health sessions, simple and informative meet-ups, or just something fun to unwind, we’re here to make it happen. - Krupa

Get in touch with Krupa and share your feedback on this session or suggest what you would like to see next from the Here If You Need campaign: vpwellbeinganddiversity@su.plymouth.ac.uk

About "Here If You Need" and how women can get involved:

This programme is designed for women and those who identify as women to support them by creating safe, inclusive spaces where they can connect, learn, and thrive and take part in things that really matter to them. Whether it’s fitness sessions, helpful/informative workshops, casual catch-ups, or just a bit of fun and games, the idea is to tailor it to what women want and need.
