Over the course of the year, the Men's Rugby Club and Women's Rugby Club have been highly engaged with their National Governing Body: the Students' RFU (SRFU).
As a result of the successful funding from the partnership with SRFU in February 2025, we have been lucky enough to secure over £1400 worth of new equipment for both clubs, including some additional freebies! The equipment will be instrumental for the delivery of both clubs for the rest of this year and for years to come!
The funding did not come as a given from the SRFU, but through the hard work of the clubs and the UPSU Activities team, we have been fortunate enough to secure this equipment.
The equipment included tackle pads, balls, water bottles, cones, and more! Members of the Women's and Men's Rugby Club have expressed how much this means to their teams, helping to support their growth as a club and to provide quality equipment to new and existing members to aid training sessions and better prepare for future matches.
By having kit delivered every year by the SRFU it means that we can put some funding aside to help better plan for the future of our Women's Rugby Club! - Women's Rugby Chair
