The University of Plymouth Students’ Union has been awarded the Best Student Venue in the City and accredited with Highly Commended Best Late Night Venue at the Best Bar None Awards 2023!
Anthony Haynes, Chair of Plymouth Night Patrol, also received an award at the Best Bar None Awards for Best Volunteer of the Year 2023!
What is the ‘Best Bar None Awards’?
The Best Bar None is a national award scheme which aims to promote responsible management and operation of alcohol-licensed premises in the South West.
The Best Bar None Awards 2023 took place on Tuesday 14th November at Home Park Stadium, Theatre of Greens, and was attended by University of Plymouth Students’ Union staff members and Sabbatical Officers who enjoyed an evening of drinks, delicious food, and entertainment in the Club Argyle Lounge.
As a participating venue, the University of Plymouth Students’ Union has been recognised for going above and beyond with its practices to ensure the welfare of students and staff members at our venue, providing an excellent space for the student community to socialise and safely enjoy an evening out.

What is Plymouth Night Patrol?
University of Plymouth Night Patrol is an award-winning, volunteer student team who are dedicated to emergency night-time response.
Plymouth Night Patrol volunteers extensive training allowing them to deploy, tri-weekly, onto Plymouth's streets, safeguarding their peers on nights out. They are an integral part of ensuring the welfare of our student community, working with the Students’ Union and local authorities at weekly student events and larger, annual SU events such as the Summer Ball.
