The Students’ Union (UPSU) has taken the crown for the second straight year for the Best Student Venue in the city at the 2019 Plymouth Best Bar None Awards.
At the awards hosted at the Crowne Plaza Plymouth on the 12th November, UPSU scooped the award for the outstanding management of the bar and nightclub plus the contribution it makes to the evening and night-time economy within the city.

This award really demonstrates the hard work and commitment the SU shows to delivering an outstanding student experiences. The safety of our students is paramount to us and this award recognises that importance to us. We have an extremely dedicated staff team, that have all worked hard to deliver the best venue possible to our students.
The Plymouth Best Bar None scheme is an accreditation scheme run by the licensed trade. Its aim in partnership with the authorities is to reduce alcohol related crime and anti-social behaviour through training, education and the promotion of best practice. In order for a premises to become an accredited member of the Best Bar None scheme, the establishment has to undergo an annual assessment to ensure that they are both legally compliant and that they operate to the highest of standards. The Best Bar None Plymouth scheme is nationally recognised as one of the top 6 schemes in the country.
UPSU took the top award for its continued hard work and dedication to students and ensuring that its venue is run to the highest of standards helping reduce anti-social behaviour and alcohol related crime in the city.
