On Tuesday 22nd of October, University of Plymouth Pole Dance Club (UPPDC) hosted a charity fundraiser event for The Primrose Foundation, a local Plymouth breast cancer charity, in line with the International Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The day consisted of pole dancing demonstrations, a bake sale by the UPPDC, the Life Drawing Society conducting taster drawing sessions, the Feminist Society selling pin badges, and the Primrose Foundation having talks with students and giving out free donated bras.
All these events throughout the day brought in lots of foot traffic, and spread the word on the importance of breast cancer awareness, self-checking and supporting each other through cancer experiences.
The event also raised £183 which all went directly to The Primrose Foundation.
Our fundraiser was a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we come together to support a cause close to our hearts. Every donation, big or small, brings us one step closer to a future without breast cancer. Thank you to everyone who joined us, donated, and spread the word – your support makes all the difference! – Emma, UPPDC social secretary
