On the 7th December 2024, the University of Plymouth Student Choir held their Winter Concert at the Christ the King Church in Plymouth as an opportunity to perform to friends and family and to raise money for their chosen charity.
"Every year the choir aims to hold two main concerts, one in the winter and the second in the spring.
This year we are raising money for Livewire Youth and FEAT Sepsis Research. We raised almost £400 at the concert alone.
We performed a variety of pieces including a range of Christmas carols, A Muppets Christmas Carol Medley, Another Star by Stevie Wonder, and You Will Be Found from the Dear Evan Hansen musical. Choir members were also given the opportunity to perform solos and small group pieces.
We were accompanied by members of the University Big Band throughout our carols and a few other pieces.
The choir is open to all students regardless of experience and even confidence, we want to create a space where students can enjoy singing a wide range of pieces whilst also making friends.
Our next concert will be on the 30th of March 2025!"
I am so grateful for the opportunity to lead the Choir and I am so proud of everyone for all the hard work they put in. - Hebe Parrott, Music Director.
