Your guide to the Fairs during Freshers' Week

Written by: UPSU

homepage

During Freshers' Week we'll be running a different Fair each day from Tuesday 20th through to Friday 23rd September.

But, what's the difference?

These Fairs are a great way to find out more about the huge range of opportunities available to you as a student of the University of Plymouth. Each day will focus on a different theme - from accessing discounts and deals, getting involved in sport, joining societies, finding volunteering opportunities and looking after your wellbeing.

They are all completely free to attend. If you're looking to beat the crowds then the best time to come is at the beginning of the events - which all start at 11am or at the end of the day.

Freshers' Fair

  • Tuesday 20th September, 11am - 5pm
  • Where: Rolle Marquee & the SU roof

Our first Fair of the week is the Freshers' Fair. Tuesday is the day to come on to campus for freebies, discounts and deals from both local and national companies. Expect to come away fully loaded with giveaways. Here's a sneak peek at who you'll find at the Fair.

Sports Fair

Whether you're looking to compete against other Universities as part of BUCS, try a brand new sport, or just get active and switch off from your studies with friends - joining a club or taking part in social sport is a fantastic way of making your time at Uni even better.

The Sports Fair is your opportunity to see what sports clubs and programmes are available for you to take part in. All of our clubs are student-led so come down and meet the students who run these clubs.

Societies Fair

  • Thursday 22nd September, 11am - 4pm
  • Where: Rolle Marquee & the SU

With over 100 societies to choose from you're bound to find one for you at the Societies Fair. We have a wide range of academic, cultural, faith, food & drink, fundraising, general interest, media, performance arts, political and welfare societies available for you to join.

As with our clubs, these groups are all student-led. Browse the stalls in the Rolle Marquee and the SU and speak to the students who run these groups to find out what sort of activities they run and how you can get involved.

Volunteering & Feel Good Fair

Following the sad passing of HRH Queen Elizabeth II the Volunteering Fair and Feel Good Fair have been merged and will both take place on Friday 23rd September in the Rolle Marquee.

The Volunteering Fair will feature a range of partners who have a variety of volunteering opportunities available for students just like you. Volunteering is a great way to explore your new surroundings, gain experience and make a difference.

The Feel Good Fair is brand new for 2022 and a great way to wind down towards the end of Freshers' Week. Learn more about the support services available to you as a student should you need them and, most importantly, have fun!
