Each month there will be a Student AND Student Group of the month. This is over both sports clubs and activities (Societies and Volunteering).
The nominations will be sent to your VP Activities, who will look through them and decide a winner for each category. The winners will be given a prize and shout-outs on UPSU’s social media.
This is a great opportunity to give support and appreciation to those that may not otherwise get any appreciation. It also allows those student groups that do amazing things for the community, to be recognised for this.
And finally, for us as a Student Union, to show our thanks and appreciation for all the incredible things we know you do.
Student of the month: Kyla Tossi
Kyla started off the year running the Jui Jitsu Club solely on her own, being the only committee member to step up after the COVID pandemic.
She was responsible for keeping the club running at the start of the year and recruited members all on her own.
Now, while juggling a broken leg and a dissertation, she is still helping to organise socials and the AGM. Well done Kyla!
Student Group of the month: University of Plymouth Netball Club
Our very own netball team have raised over £1290 for Mind UK with their trek of Mount Snowdon! 12 of the girls took on the climb in North Wales on Saturday the 5th of March.
The girls have put so much effort in to ensure they raised as much money as possible, this is why they are this month’s winners. Well done UPNC!
Check out their Instagram to see some of the pictures they took on their climb:
Remember, you can nominate yourself and/or your student group. Make sure you are getting the recognition you deserve!
