your chance, your voice, your choice

Your VP Wellbeing and Diversity, Krupa, shares why any students who have yet to vote in the Student Elections should consider casting their vote.

Voting closes on Friday 28th of February at midday. Results are on Friday 28th of February at 6pm in the SU.

"The last couple of days I have been hearing ‘why should we vote’, ‘what’s the point in voting?’, and ‘it doesn’t really affect me.’

And honestly, I get it.

If you aren’t an applicant it might feel like this isn’t for you, but here’s the thing...

Do you know who influences decisions about the student experience, about your accommodation, your student fees, your campus spaces, your student support? Student leaders do – and the ones you elect sit in rooms where big decisions happen; rooms where students usually don’t have access. They meet with University Executives; they negotiate; they fight for your needs.

When you don’t vote, it’s not just skipping a formality, you’re letting someone else decide your future.

This is your chance, your voice, your choice.

Take your future into your own hands and vote."
