I am a second-year Anthropology student determined to create an environment that enables all students to feel supported, heard, and emboldened throughout their studies. I want to give a voice to those students who are so often overlooked and unrepresented in the decision-making echelons of university life. This is important, as only when all students feel they have a say in their education can they maximise their potential and explore their passions.
Throughout my first year, I built great relationships with many of the School of Society and Culture faculty members. I aim to use those good relations to encourage more cross-discipline communication between students and staff. Recognising that our programmes share more in common than meets the eye, I believe greater collaboration is essential to making academic and social life for students as comfortable as possible. I want to achieve this by creating more shared spaces for assessment feedback, academic pathway advice, research crossovers, and creative projects. Hosting accessible face-to-face drop-ins and working groups will provide students across all programmes with the platform to communicate their opinions, ideas, and objectives and work together with faculty to pursue their passions.
Please do not hesitate to contact me or your course reps if you have any questions, ideas, or feedback that you would like to share.
