Plymouth Malayalee Society is a cultural community that aims to spread the distinct traditions & values of the South Indian state: Kerala, which is fondly called God’s Own Country. We hope to enlighten Plymouth students about the rich heritage of Malayalees through various festivities such as Onam and Vishu which are unique to Kerala and other fun events like games nights and movie nights (Who’s your favourite: Mammootty or Mohanlal?) We aspire for the society to be a space of homeliness for students who have a Malayalee background allowing them to find a home, away from home. Reflecting the diversity of Kerala, we as an ethnic community intend to be inclusive and welcoming of all who are interested in learning about our culture.
