About us:
UPSU Scuba Society is for Plymouth University students who have an interest in scuba diving! From the experienced diver to those completely new to the sport, everyone is welcome!
Founded in 2014 we've come a long way, starting with a few members and being shortlisted for Best New Society in our first year, to being the Society of the Year, Give it a Go Champions, awarded Gold ICONS, and now being one of the biggest societies with over 175 annual members!
As a society, we work very closely with our affiliated dive centre - Indeep - to provide the best experience possible for our society. A few of our members even assist and work at Indeep too so you can be rest assured that we are working as hard as possible to provide the best experience possible for all of you! Indeep offers discounted diving and diving courses to Scuba Society members. If you are interested in doing the HSE Professional Scuba Course (HSE P4) with the University then we have prerequisite packages to suit everyone!
Costs
The £10 membership is for everyone in the society so that you can participate in socials, trips & events, it also makes you eligible for diving and training discounts. It doesn't include equipment rental!
The £75 gear rental agreement on top of the society membership gives you 12 months of Equipment rental from Indeep (excluding drysuit hire), meaning that whenever you dive with the society your equipment rental is FREE!
Don't try and buy a committee membership - we can see which memberships you buy so will catch you out!!

Socials and Events
Throughout the year we run regular socials (drinking and non-drinking) and events for members. This year we have loads of fun socials, charity events, talks and volunteering projects.
We are sponsored by Roundabout so we will be running weekly club meetings on its premises in the private function room
Diving will be running as often as possible, this will primarily be on Wednesday evenings, and occasionally on weekends for Advanced Open Water divers and above
We're also continuing our "Divers Against Debris" project this year, including beach cleans, ocean cleans and other green impact events!
Keep an eye out at the start of the year for information about our summer holiday... there will be limited spaces!
