Come and join the Badminton club at the University of Plymouth!

We aim to create an all-inclusive environment for all abilities, so if you've only just picked up a racket or looking for some competitive matches, everyone is welcome! Our friendly committee work on providing a relaxed and social club that gives all our members a fun and safe place to meet new people and enjoy a game of badminton. Whether you're a keen sportsman looking to join the team and get some practice in a few times a week, or just hoping to join a club, meet new friends and rock up for a social each week, the badminton club is for you!

Session Times

All sessions are held at Nancy Astor Sports Hall (on campus):

Wednesdays 21:00 - 22:00:
- Non-members: £3.50 ( + £1 racket hire in products section)
- Standard members: £1.50
Thursdays 19:00 - 20:00
- Standard members: £1.50
- Development members: Free

Plymouth Local League: 3 Men's teams, 1 Ladies team

Memberships:

Standard membership - £15 per annum

Wednesday 21:00 - 22:00: £1.50
Thursday 19:00 - 20:00: £1.50
Facilities and equipment provided
Cheaper session fees with free racket hire
Student coaching available on Thursdays
Can play up into teams for matches if needed with £5 match fee
Can purchase kit

Development membership - £80 per annum

Wednesday 20:00 - 21:00: £1.50 ONLY attend if joining friends
Thursday 19:00 - 20:00: Free
Thursday 20:00 - 22:00: Fitness (Main Hall)
Friday 20:00 - 22:00: Free (home league matches OR pegboard)
Play for our Men's C team in Plymouth local league
Badminton England affiliation fee, Plymouth League affiliation fee, Yehlex Championship shuttles for Fridays, Transport expenses
Opportunity to enter into Plymouth Restricted Tournament, Plymouth Open Tournament

Team membership - £150 per annum

Monday 19:00 - 21:00: ran by external coach Rob Freer with peer-peer coaching
Wednesdays 20:00 - 21:00: £1.50 ONLY attend if joining friends
Thursdays 19:00 - 20:00: can attend if willing to help coach other students or joining friends not on team/development
Thursday 20:00 - 22:00: Fitness (Main Hall)
Friday 20:00 - 22:00: league matches OR pegboard
BUCS fee cover, Yehlex Championship & Premiership shuttles
