Charity
This years chosen charity is: Devon & Cornwall Food Action (DCFA)
Devon and Cornwall Food Action (DCFA) is a registered charity in the UK that works to combat food poverty and food waste in the counties of Devon and Cornwall. DCFA partners with supermarkets, food manufacturers, and other suppliers to collect
surplus food that would otherwise go to waste. Using their food hubs in Devon & Cornwall, these serve as central distribution points for surplus food, ensuring it reaches those who need it most.
DCFA relies heavily on the dedication of its volunteers, who give their time and energy to sort, pack, and deliver food, as well as support the organisation’s various operations. DCFA estimates that it provides food to over 20,000 people each
year, playing a vital role in alleviating food poverty and reducing food waste in the region.
For more information, check out their website: devonandcornwallfoodaction.org, or drop them an email on: info@dcfa.org.uk.
